Welcome fundraisers!

Published by Reinier Spruit on

Hello, and welcome to our very first blog post! We are excited about fundraising and nonprofit marketing, so we decided to create a new fundraising blog. You are witnessing a historic moment with the launch of 101fundraising. At least, we hope…

We’ve been tweeting about this launch for some time already so we hope you are just as impatient as we are to get this blog going!

101fundraising is a crowdblog on fundraising, serving both the international and Dutch fundraising community. We also want to share fundraising expertise, insights and knowledge, because fundraising is a great profession!

This blog is for fundraisers who don’t have time to run their own blog, but want to blog once in a while. It’s waiting for your blog! If you can write, read or react… join the crowd!

For the launch we’ve invited some smart and interesting fundraisers to kick-off the crowdblog.

The next couple of weeks you can expect blogs from Rebecca Davies, Julie Verhaar and Mitch Hinz to start the English blog posts. For the Dutch part Margot Ende, Victor van der Veen and Lars Arnoldussen agreed to make an inaugural contribution! These are all fundraisers with years of experience in successful fundraising nonprofits like MSF, Unicef, WWF, SOS Children’s Villages, NizA/ActionAid and The Cancer Society!

So far in total 23 bloggers from 9 countries agreed to participate! Check out who they are on our Bloggers page!

For the starting period we’ll publish a new Dutch blog post every Monday and an English one on Thursday, but we hope to increase that number soon…

Don’t forget to connect to 101fundraising so you miss nothing! You can sign up to receive new blog posts in your e-mail. Or sign up to our RSS feed (even specifically for English and Dutch posts).

We’ve added some extra resource features like a very extensive Blogroll, a Recommended Blogs Reader and some Twitter lists. Enough fundraising information to keep you busy till next year!

We hope you’ll enjoy this new blog. If you think our crowdblog is a great idea, please spread the word and share it with your own fundraising network. Because no crowdblog without a crowd!

We’ll kick off tomorrow with a great blog post from Rebecca, so see you tomorrow. Thank you and we hope you’ll join the crowd!

Congratulations to our Dutch confréres for conceiving and launching this project. A terrific idea!

Should make us all stop and think: “Why on earth didn’t we all come up with this long ago?”

Good luck and much success! We’ll all be standing by and reading every word.

Bringing ideas together, share knowledge and meet to discuss!
I’m working close to fundraisers offering a ‘turn key’ service with airportboxes collecting foreign coins( Coin Co International, Burgershill, UK). We are working in different European countries and with some of the biggest NGOs. Unfortunately working fundraising instruments aren’t often brought from one nation to another. Specially not in Italy. This blog for bloggers will help. Compliments!

A crowd blog on fundraising? How brilliant!

I must confess that if I shared a blog I would certainly feel a lot less pressure to ‘feed’ it. This is a fabulous venture and I really look forward to being a part of it. Thank to all of you who came up with the idea and then took it that step further to implementation. A true gift to the third sector. Bravo!
